Three things to start with
- Prepare refill reserves
- Agree the team schedule
- Plan prompt checks
Preparation starts in the workshop
Before a peak day, plan bouquet recipes, packaging, containers and reserve quantities. Schedule preparation so urgent bespoke orders do not stop restocking. Decide where arrangements waiting for dispatch will be held. Extra machine capacity does not resolve limited preparation capacity, so check the whole chain from incoming flowers to the point where a customer removes a finished bouquet
Restocking based on actual sales
Assign someone to monitor sales and decide whether another visit is needed. Do not follow an old timetable blindly when current information shows a different requirement, but allow time for loading, travel and servicing. Keep capacity for reserved collections distinct from open-sale stock. That avoids filling every available compartment with general stock just before customers arrive for previously arranged orders
After the occasion ends
After a peak day, record sales, remaining stock, write-offs and extra working time. Assess whether promotions and price changes helped or simply shifted purchase timing. Keep the operating sequence as well as the successful turnover figure for next time. This gives you a practical basis for preparation instead of remembering only that the occasion felt busy and assuming more stock would always have helped
