Operating supplies for flower vending machines

Operating supplies help standardise bouquet preparation. Select them for the compartment, bouquet format and workflow, rather than appearance alone

Three things to start with

  • Specify the machine model
  • Assess bouquet support
  • Plan reserve stock

Supplies matched to daily tasks

Choose operating supplies by the tasks involved in preparing and restocking bouquets. Water containers, holders, inserts and packaging serve different functions. Distinguish reusable items from packaging consumed with each sale. This lets you plan stock around the actual replenishment cycle rather than ordering equal quantities of unrelated items and later discovering that one essential component runs out first

Compatibility with bouquet and compartment

A product name or size letter does not establish compatibility with your machine. Record external dimensions, the bouquet's weight with water and available compartment space. Check whether the customer can remove the complete arrangement comfortably. A container that works well in the workshop may be awkward on a particular shelf, so assess the full arrangement instead of choosing by a catalogue label alone

Minimum stock and reordering

Track packaging use and the number of containers in the machine, workshop and cleaning cycle. Set the reorder point using actual lead time and consumption. Include required quantities, delivery location and machine model in the inquiry. Avoid recalculating ordinary consumption from one exceptional holiday, while still planning separate stock for known peak periods that would otherwise exhaust routine supplies
