Three things to start with
- Discuss supported methods
- Check provider fees
- Agree how failed payments are handled
Card terminal and processing agreement
The terminal is hardware, while accepting payments also involves a provider and processing agreement. Compare charges, supported payment methods and settlement arrangements. Bouquetmat lists Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay among supported methods. Specify the payment solution in the quote rather than relying on the general word terminal, which does not describe the operating agreement or its ongoing costs
Cash requires additional servicing
The cash option accepts banknotes and returns change in coins. Plan change reserves, collection and checks accordingly. For an outdoor location, consider cash-storage exposure and staff responsibility as well. Choose the feature because it serves customers at the site, after assessing the additional work, rather than assuming that more payment methods are operationally equivalent
Testing payment and collection
Before opening, test the complete sequence from selection to collection. Establish which details are needed when a customer reports a problem: time, amount and compartment. Reserved bouquets follow different paths depending on whether payment has already been made. Staff should understand this distinction so orders are prepared correctly and a prepaid customer is not unintentionally asked to pay again
